Welcome to Saskatchewan Firearms Safety! My name is Tim Thiessen, and I am one of the instructors. With over 25 years of experience in handling firearms, I am not just an avid hunter but a dedicated advocate for gun safety. For the past eight years, I’ve been actively involved in the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Hunters Safety Program, driven by a passion to instill responsible gun ownership.

My journey with firearms began over two decades ago, and it has been a fulfilling odyssey of learning, respect, and sharing knowledge. As a seasoned hunter, I’ve navigated the wild terrains, honing my skills and deepening my appreciation for the art of responsible gun use.

In my role as a CFSC instructor, my goal is simple yet profound: to empower a diverse range of students with the knowledge and skills needed to be not just gun owners but responsible custodians of safety. I find immense joy in seeing my students leave the class not only satisfied with their learning experience but equipped with the confidence to handle firearms responsibly.

With an unwavering commitment to the art of hunting and a wealth of experience spanning five decades, I have dedicated the last 50 years of my life to the pursuit of responsible firearm handling. As a seasoned hunter, my journey has not only been marked by the thrill of the chase but also by a profound understanding of the importance of safety in every aspect of the sport.

For the past 15 years, I have taken on the role of an educator, sharing my wealth of knowledge in firearms and hunter safety. Through my teachings, I aim to instill a deep sense of responsibility and respect for the tools we use to pursue our passion. Whether in the field or at the shooting range, I emphasize the critical importance of adhering to safe firearm practices.
